Captain Tiger Woods shed tears, his opponent Ernie Els probably did likewise, as the United States fought back from a two-point deficnt with a day to play to win 8 of a possible 12 matches to retain the 2019 Presidents Cup at a sublime Royal Melbourne.

The Internationals were gallant in defeat, chock full of rookies and heart in equal quantities. Do we really have to wait 2 years till the next one?
