The last Sunday in May heralded a new beginning for the Peninsula Kingswood Country Golf Club in Frankston, Victoria, with hundreds of members and invited guests revelling in the official opening of their newly renovated golf courses and clubhouse.
Both the North and South courses have undergone stunning upgrades at the hands of the Ogilvy Clayton Cocking Mead design firm with the project’s chief architect, Michael Cocking (below), joining others in a six-hole exhibition following the offical opening tee shot struck by Victorian Premier, Daniel Andrews.
Among the amateurs and professionals featuring in the exhibition was local member (off +7) and one of Australia’s finest amateurs, David Micheluzzi, and former U.S. Open champion and a Captain’s Assistant for the International team for the upcoming Presidents Cup at Royal Melbourne, Geoff Ogilvy (below).
By all accounts, the amateurs gave the professionals a bit of a touch up on the day too.
